July 4th Celebration

Stenton will host an Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration!

Visitors are encouraged to spend the day celebrating July 4th in Historic Germantown, beginning at Stenton, where guests are invited to enjoy hot dogs and make-your-own ice cream on Stenton’s historic grounds as we celebrate America’s birthday.

Activities will include creating an American flag-themed fan, mingling with Benjamin Franklin, colonial games, and music by Run of the Mill String Band. This event is free but reservations are greatly appreciated. Please call 215-329-7312 or email programs@stenton.org to reserve your space.

Stenton, which has been described as “the most authentic of all Philadelphia’s historic houses,” is located in the historic Logan section of Philadelphia at 4601 North 18th Street (the corner of 18th Street and Windrim Avenue), just 4 blocks east of Wayne Junction.The house is open for tours Tuesday through Saturday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., April through December, and by appointment throughout the year.
