Grumblethorpe's mission is to interpret the history of Germantown through exploring four generations of the Wister family and their accomplishments through a wide-ranging partnership education program. This program serves pre-schoolers through older adults in a variety of programmatic endeavors extending from museum education classes and workshops to a Teen Entrepreneurship Training Program to a weekly farm stand that provides a much needed source of fresh produce. Grumblethorpe Education Program Partnerships support public, parochial and private school curriculums and involve several schools, mostly in the northwest section of Philadelphia. The education program was started by Malcolm Wister, the 5th great grandson of John Wister. The two-acre garden serves as a laboratory for neighborhood schools and provides a source of organic vegetables for our farm stand. Visit philalandmarks.org ›
